Yes. We accept PayPal for deposits. However, a 5.5% transaction fee applies and must be covered by the traveler.
The remaining balance should be paid in Peru, preferably in cash, at least 2 days before the tour start date, unless a different arrangement has been confirmed in writing. If the balance is paid by card, a 5% transaction fee applies.
Yes, this can be arranged. However, any online payment platform fees, card fees, transfer fees, or exchange-related costs must be covered by the traveler.
Cancellation conditions depend on how far in advance the cancellation is made and on which services have already been purchased. For full details, please see our Terms & Conditions.

Travel Planning
That depends on your interests, physical condition, travel style, and how much time you have in Peru.

  • Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley / 7 Lakes in Ausangate — excellent adventure options.

No. While Cusco and Machu Picchu are an important part of our identity, Inside Peru Adventures also offers journeys across Peru's coast, Andes, and Amazon, including multi-day packages and tailor-made itineraries.
Yes. Many of our tours and packages can be arranged as private journeys, depending on the destination, date, and availability.
Yes. We offer tailor-made journeys designed around your interests, pace, travel style, and available time.
Weather, Altitude & Conditions
Cusco usually has two main seasons: dry season from approximately April/May to October, and rainy season from approximately November to March. Days can be sunny and pleasant, while mornings, evenings, and nights can be cold. Weather in the Andes can change quickly, so layers are always recommended.
Machu Picchu has a more humid and subtropical climate than Cusco. It is generally warmer, but rain is possible at any time of year. We recommend bringing a light rain jacket, sun protection, comfortable walking shoes, and layered clothing.
Trekking routes such as the Inca Trail, Salkantay, Lares, Ausangate, and Choquequirao can experience strong weather variation depending on altitude, route, and season. Higher-altitude areas can be very cold, especially at night, while lower sections may be warmer and more humid. Proper trekking gear is very important.
Not everyone experiences altitude sickness, but Cusco and many Andean destinations are at high elevation. Symptoms may include headache, fatigue, nausea, shortness of breath, or dizziness. We strongly recommend resting after arrival, staying hydrated, avoiding heavy meals or alcohol on the first day, and allowing time for acclimatization before demanding hikes.
Yes, especially for treks such as Classic Inca Trail, Salkantay, Ausangate / 7 Lakes, and Choquequirao. We generally recommend arriving in Cusco at least 1 to 2 days before a demanding trek.
Packing & What to Bring
Packing depends on the itinerary, but in general we recommend:
  • Valid passport
  • Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots
  • Waterproof jacket & warm layers
  • Sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Personal medications & toiletries
  • Power adapter if needed
  • Small daypack
For trekking itineraries, we recommend:
  • Hiking boots & trekking socks
  • Warm jacket, thermal layers, gloves & beanie
  • Rain gear & quick-dry clothing
  • Sunscreen & insect repellent (where relevant)
  • Headlamp
  • Reusable water bottle or hydration pack
  • Small backpack for daytime use
No. For trekking routes, travelers usually carry only a daypack with essentials for the day. Depending on the itinerary, your larger duffel or luggage will be handled according to the trek logistics.
Yes. In most cases, you can leave your main luggage safely stored while you are on the trek. Final arrangements depend on the itinerary and logistics.
Food, Water & Comfort
This depends on the itinerary. On many trekking programs, meals are freshly prepared as part of the experience. On day tours and train-based journeys, meals may be included partially or according to the itinerary details.
Yes. We can usually accommodate dietary needs if informed in advance. Please let us know at the time of booking.
This depends on the itinerary. On many trekking programs, water is provided after the first meal service begins, while on day tours and city-based programs it may differ. We always recommend carrying your own reusable bottle.
Comfort depends on the tour type. Train journeys and cultural packages offer greater comfort and lighter physical demand. Trekking itineraries are naturally more adventurous and physically demanding. Lodge-based treks offer more comfort than camping-based treks. Private and premium journeys can be arranged with added comfort and flexibility.
Machu Picchu & Trekking Logistics
The Classic Inca Trail is a multi-day trekking experience and the most iconic route to Machu Picchu. The Short Inca Trail is designed for travelers with less time who still want to hike part of the trail and arrive through the Sun Gate.
They are very different experiences. The Inca Trail is a historic route with archaeological sites and government permit regulations. The Salkantay Lodge-Based Trek is known for dramatic mountain scenery, changing ecosystems, and more comfort than traditional camping treks.
No. Some do, and some do not. Classic Inca Trail, Short Inca Trail, Salkantay Lodge-Based Trek, and Sacred Valley plus Train to Machu Picchu all include Machu Picchu. Others may focus on different landscapes and experiences.
That depends on the itinerary, entry circuit, and schedule. Most Machu Picchu programs include guided time, and some allow additional independent time when regulations and timing permit.
Possibly, but this depends entirely on availability, entry regulations, route availability, and booking timing. These tickets are very limited and are not guaranteed unless confirmed in advance.
Hotels, Transport & Flights
Not in all trips. Hotel inclusion depends on the specific itinerary. Multi-day packages often include hotels. Treks may include hotels before or after the trek, depending on the route. Day tours usually do not include accommodation.
Yes, in many cases this can be customized depending on availability and budget.
Yes, some multi-day Peru packages may include domestic flights. Flight inclusion depends on the package and quotation.
If a package includes a flight allowance and the actual airfare at the time of booking is higher, the traveler must pay the difference before ticket issuance. For full details, please see our Terms & Conditions.
